Friday's 5 Minute FOTD

Im sure I'm not the only one who prefers a few more minutes in bed before getting up for work, so sometimes a little bit of smokey grey eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara is all I have time for in the morning. Simple and quick! I added some lipstick (17 Lasting Fix in Autumn Berries) later on.

Getting festive

Hi lovelies! I hope you are all doing well :) Since I got back from Germany a week ago I have been really busy with work, my uni application, buying christmas presents and so on - I didn't really have a lot of time to sit down and just relax for a bit. Sorry it's been a little quieter here in the last few days, but I have already taken a lot of photos and done some swatches so hopefully I'll get the time to actually write the texts soon too! I have got a few lovely products I bought in Germany to show you, I went a little crazy with buying nail polishes ;)

Anyway, this is what I looked like today then! A very very quick and easy look, some smudged grey eyeshadow, lots of mascara and my new blush from p2's Black Deluxe limited edition which is one of the things I bought in Germany last week. It's called 010 Shimmery Rose and the name says it all I think - a lovely rosy shade and fine shimmer, perfect combination right? Application is brilliant as the texture is super silky and it's nicely pigmented. However, it is a quite a light shade which is great for my very fair skin, but it might be more of a highlighter rather than a blush for darker skintones. These are the products I used:

Face: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #21, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent', p2 Nice and Naughty Blush '010 Shimmery Rose'
Eyes:  Sleek i-divine Bad Girl eyeshadow palette, Artdeco Eyeshadow #27, Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil 'Black Fever', Maxfactor False Lash Effect Fusion Mascara

Kev's parents got us a christmas tree today! I got really excited and couldn't wait to put it up.. Quickly convinced Kev to take me for a little trip to Ikea to get some baubles and christmas decorations - I chose silver and navy blue ones, and most importantly, fairy lights! :) Aww I'm feeling really festive now and the living room looks so much nicer too! I'm a bit sad as this will be the first time I'll be celebrating christmas away from my family, but at the same time I'm quite excited to have my first Scottish christmas here! :)
Have you put up your tree yet, and how are you decorating it? I could have bought a hundred different baubles and choosing colours was so difficult too.. I think I should just get another couple of trees haha! xx

Passion

It's rainy, grey and very cold outside - such a miserable day! In my opinion, there is no better way to brighten up a gloomy day like this with a bold lipstick. I opted for a bright pink called 'Passion' by BeautyUK, a very glossy and highly pigmented lipstick which I find ideal for a quick and fuss-free statement lip! Amazing lippie - proper review about it will follow soon. I kept the rest of my make up rather simple: a little bit of grey and black eyeshadow and rosy cheeks. These are the products I used:

Face: No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick 'Extra Fair', Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation #51, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent', Catrice Defining Duo Blush 'Pink Grapefruit Shake'
Eyes:  Alverde Baked Eyeshadow 'Silky Grey', Essence Duo Eyeshadow 'Newcomer', Artdeco Eyeshadow #27 for highlight, Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil 'Black Fever', Maxfactor False Lash Effect Fusion mascara
Lips: BeautyUK 'Passion'

I'm aware of how bad my hair looks at the moment.. I usually get my roots bleached every 3 weeks as I hate the way my hair looks when my natural, darker hair colour starts to come through. Unfortunately, I just didn't seem to have the time (and money) to go to the hairdresser's in the last few weeks which is why my roots look horrendous now. However, my lovely mum booked me an appointment with my favourite and trusted hairdresser for when I'm back home in Germany in two weeks, yay! Anyway, the whole point in writing this was to ask if any of you have experience with bleaching your roots at home? I'm just too scared to try it as I will probably just mess it up completely haha! Or what about John Frieda's Go Blonder Lightening Spray? Any good?

And last but not least, this is what I wore today! As it is getting a lot colder now, I love wearing scarves and thick, knitted cardigans to keep me warm and cosy. I'm still looking for a new winter coat and some boots though. I am not a huge fan of UGGs but they're just so so so warm and super soft, so I might actually get a pair.. my feet would love me for that!

Kitty Cat

Kev and me went for a little shopping trip to Fort Kinnaird yesterday, and look what I found in H&M... a lovely kitty cat print dress! It was only £14.99, so how could I say no? I think it's super cute and I couldn't wait to wear it this morning - obviously with some tights, a warm and comfy knitted cardigan and a snood to keep me warm - I can't believe how cold it already is... I'm definitely a summer person!

It's my day off today and I only left the house to nip down to the shops which is why i opted for a incredibly simple look - a big of grey eyeshadow smudged around the eye, mascara and pink lipstick.. done! :)
Face: No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick 'Extra Fair', Astor Mattitude Foundation 'Ivory', Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent', Catrice Defining Duo Blush 'Pink Grapefruit Shake'
Eyes:  Alverde Baked Eyeshadow 'Silky Grey', Artdeco Eyeshadow #27, Maxfactor False Lash Effect Fusion mascara
Lips: Dior Addict 'Diorkiss'

Simple smokey eye

Sorry for these crappy pictures - it's so hard to take photos when it's dark and gloomy most of the day! This is what I looked like yesterday: a thin layer of Missha's BB cream, a flush of sheer pink blush on my cheeks, black and shimmery grey eyeshadow smudged around the eye, black eyeliner and mascara - done. Quick and easy! And in case you are wondering, lipstick (Dior Addict 'Diorkiss') is missing on these pictures as I took them before dinner :)

These are the products I used:
Face: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #21, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder 'Transparent', Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks 'Pink Cloud'
Eyes:  Alverde Baked Eyeshadow 'Silky Grey', Essence Duo Eyeshadow 'Newcomer', Artdeco Eyeshadow #27, Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil 'Black Fever', MAC Fluidline 'Blacktrack', Chanel Inimitable Mascara

Face of the day

This is what I looked like today - a really easy and quick look as I never have a lot of time in the morning before work... I prefer spending an extra 10 minutes in bed :) I was wearing two of my new favourites today: Dior Addict lipstick in 'Diorkiss' and Topshop blush in 'Powdered' - I am such a sucker for pink! Reviews of those two beauties will follow very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
